WINTER PONDEROSA

Pete Alport Photography

PONDEROSASNOW18X12P

These Ponderosa trees are 100yds. off highway 20 in Central Oregon. I've been driving by them since I was two years old. The older I get, the more I appreciate this gorgeous stand of trees. Their orange color captivates me every time...ask anyone who has driven with me on this stretch of highway, I always point out the beauty of the 15-20 acre stand.

These Ponderosa have withstood a lot, but more fascinating to me, they've seen a lot...me a couple hundred times, maybe more, not to mention millions of other passer Byers, pee breakers, hitch hikers, Native Americans, horses to cars, wolves, bears, elk, deer, fires, eagles, hawks, and today, yep, these trees have seen and experienced a lot.
