SUMMER VOLCANIC SUNSET

2022, a Summer with the least amount of wildfire smoke in Oregon I can remember. I found a car camping spot a few years back with views of Mt. Hood all the way to the edge of the Three Sisters...it’s incredible with a few short hikes nearby to make the journey both active and scenic.

On this day, the forecast called for partly cloudy skies and thus I chose to head out to this location for a colorful sunset and a short hike beforehand; I shoot sunrises at about a 20 to 1 ratio. I’m a morning person and the day is fresh, nothing possibly negative has stacked on top of my plate to take away from experiencing the beauty. Although, seeing this sunset or any sunset for that matter, has the ability to add positivity to a good day or not so good day. Anyway, I’m rambling, this night was incredible, every single volcano had gorgeous cloud color and the clarity this far into summer was outstanding! You are viewing from left to right, Mt. Washington, Broken Top and The Three Sisters at sunset.
