This is the new Skyliner Chair, under construction in a total blizzard. I have ridden the old Skyliner Chair thousands of times, literally; the terrain park is located from this chair and in my teens and twenties, I rode here as much as I could. I have cried, laughed and found peace on this chairlift. My kids have ridden this chairlift. Skyliner chairlift has provided countless positive moments for me and hundreds of thousands of others.
The old Skyliner chair was built designed by college students from MIT, making it a hodgepodge of ideas melded together. The chair worked for decades, but time took it’s tole on the equipment. Crazy to think of how many millions, literally millions of rides this chairlift has provided.
The new chairlift is a Sixpack, progressing with the growth of Central Oregon’s population as well as its visitors. I look forward to riding this chairlift tomorrow, for its inaugural day.
I love this powerful image!
