GOLDEN GLOW

I began feeling sick on the drive out to a backcountry zone, not covid sick, more like food poisoning sick. I met two other friends at the trailhead, it was dark, but the stars were out in full force...today was already starting to be gorgeous.

As I began getting my snowmobile and gear ready, my stomach was getting worse. I told my friends I wasn't feeling good and hiked up a bank above the trucks to shoot this sunrise. I loved what I saw in the viewfinder of my camera, but everything else was feeling like sh-t. I told my friends I was going back home.

I edited this photo later that day and had one basic thought: I'm glad I hiked up that little bank above the trucks. What a difference 100 steps can make to an otherwise crappy day ;) I love these two volcanoes!
