WOLF MOON MONOLITH

Pete Alport

36X24WOLFMOONMONOLITH_PRINT

Here is the first full moon of 2022 over Haystack rock in the Pacific Ocean. The moon was called a "Wolf Moon." Although many of my moon images have the moon being gigantic, I love how this one is small, accurate, right over the monolith's peak. The "blue hour" gives the image an etherial feel, which captivates me in a different, powerful way...I don't know, hard to explain, but I love it.

I have paddle boarded once around this rock and I hope to do it again soon. I have surfed in front of it countless times. I was around 2-years old when I first saw this shape, jutting out from the ocean. Four plus decades later and it still captivates me every time!
