CRATER LAKE CAVE

CRATER_LAKE_CAVE_24X36_PRINT

Been going to beautiful Crater Lake for 30+ years. From Summer to Winter, there is always something new to see and experience. I’ve snowboarded, snow camped, snowmobiled, swam, fly fished, rode e-bikes, hiked, watched sunrises and sunsets, but never experienced this cave until this Summer.

I didn’t have my camera (I-phone only) when I stumbled upon this cave...kinda nice because I just sat in here and enjoyed the sounds, peacefulness, solitude and wondered who was the first person to be in here? Thousands of years ago? What did they do? Shelter? Ceremony? Eat lunch? Whatever they did, I imagine they were happy when they found this cave.

I came back the next week with my ‘real’ camera. The skies were crystal clear (hard to have sometimes with wildfire smoke), the lake was gently lapping the shore, all was right and shot this photo. Grateful.

This is sunset and the image looks incredible when viewed big!

Crater Lake is Oregon’s only National Park.
